Orange County Power Authority (OCPA)

Residential Battery Rebate Program

  • The program offers a $1,000 rebate per household for eligible OCPA customers who install a qualifying battery energy storage system whether stand-alone or solar-paired. 
  • Key Details:
    • All residential OCPA customers are eligible (no income restrictions) 
    • Battery systems must be at least 5 kWh, permanently installed, and listed on the SGIP Verified Equipment List 
    • Applications are open now through May 15, 2026, or while funds last 
    • Reservations must be submitted before battery purchase 

Charge@Home EV Charger Rebate Program 

  • This program offers free EV chargers (valued at $500–$700) to eligible OCPA customers through an instant rebate applied at purchase.
  • Key Details:
    • Launch Date: Monday, May 12, 2025 
    • Rebate Amount: Up to $1,000 (applied at checkout)
    • Eligibility: OCPA residential customers only
    • Limit: One charger per household
    • While supplies last

Energy Efficiency Kit

  • The Orange County Power Authority Energy Efficiency Kit is designed to help our customers make simple changes to conserve energy on a daily basis. With two A19 lamps, a smart plug, a Tier 1 advanced power strip, and white weatherstrip included, this kit is ready for use in everyday applications.

State Funded Rebates and Incentives

Single Family Heat Pump Water Heater and HVAC Incentives through TECH Clean California are now offering the below incentives:

  • Heat Pump Water Heater Incentives: Market rate and equity incentives will be available ranging from $1,500 to $5,700, depending on location and equity eligibility. 

  • Heat Pump HVAC Incentives: Market rate incentives will remain the same as previous TECH Clean California incentive offerings:

    • $1,000 per unit for Californians without previous electric air conditioning and/or leaving their existing furnace in as backup or for air handling. $1,500 per unit for Californians with previous electric air conditioning and fully decommissioning their existing furnace.  

    • Equity incentives (see below for eligibility) for:  

      • $3,500 per unit for Californians without previous electric air conditioning and/or leaving their existing furnace in as backup or for air handling. $4,000 per unit for Californians with previous electric air conditioning and fully decommissioning their existing furnace.  

  • Air-to-Water Heat Pump Incentives: Market rate air-to-water heat pump incentives range from $3,500 or $5,000, depending on the global warming potential of the equipment. These projects will be reserved from the HVAC market rate budget and will not have higher equity incentives available. 

Statewide Small Multifamily Heat Pump Water Heater Incentives through TECH Clean California is offering incentives of $3,100 to $4,185 per unit for replacing existing multifamily, 10 or less units, water heaters with unitary heat pumps statewide.

Federally Funded Residential Energy & Electrification Rebates

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has announced that applications are now open for one of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)-funded programs - The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEEHRA) program - consisting of energy rebates for residential upgrades. The program is now accepting applications for multifamily building owners to make their properties more energy efficient by installing heat pumps and other electric appliances. Single-family homeowners will be able to apply within the next few weeks, for rebates to upgrade their homes with clean energy technologies.

These programs will help make California homes more comfortable, energy-efficient, cost-efficient, and climate-friendly while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Southern California Edison (SCE) offers rebates to residents who participate in the following programs:

Southern California Gas Company

Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) provides rebates to residents who participate in the following programs:

  • Solar Water Heating Incentives: A solar water heating system captures the warmth of the sun, transfers that heat to water, and works with your conventional water heater to help it use less energy.
  • Rebates for Your Home: This Program offers residential customers of Southern California Gas Company cash rebates on qualifying energy-efficiency upgrades or improvements made to single family homes, multi-family apartments, or attached residential units (maximum of four).
  • Rebates for Property Managers and Owners: Rebates for property managers and owners are available through mail-in rebates. Before purchasing energy efficient equipment and/or appliances, make sure they meet rebate specifications listed on application.
  • Energy Upgrade California: Energy Upgrade California is your one-stop-shop for home improvement projects that lower your energy use, conserve water and natural resources, and make your home healthier and more comfortable.

Go Solar, California

Go Solar, California provides rebates to residents who participate in the following programs:

  • Solar Installers: Database of Solar Installers, Contractors, and Retailers in California
  • CSI-Thermal Program/Solar Water Heating: CSI-Thermal rebates are available to homeowners, landlords and business owners who install solar water heating systems in the service territories of PG&E, SCE, SoCalGas and SDG&E.
  • Single Family Affordable Solar Housing (SASH): The SASH Program provides fully subsidized 1 kW systems to very low-income households, and highly subsidized systems to other low-income households.
  • Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing (MASH): Affordable housing customers in California now have clean solar energy with the California Solar Initiative’s Multi-family Affordable Housing Program (MASH).
  • New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP): The NSHP program provides financial incentives and other support to home builders, encouraging the construction of new, energy efficient solar homes that save homeowners money on their electric bills and protect the environment.
